The problem
Official forms are written for the office, not for you
They assume you know which of your three addresses is your residenza, what an allegato is, and whether a box that looks optional actually is. That knowledge is the whole difficulty, and it is not written on the form.

How it reads
Four ways to read a form, cheapest first
Most PDFs give up their structure without a model being involved at all. Reaching for one immediately would be slower, less accurate and more expensive, so it is the last step rather than the first.
Built-in form fields
If the PDF already carries interactive fields, their names, types and requirements are read straight out of the file.
Exact, instant and free. Nothing is inferred, because nothing needs to be.
The page’s own text and lines
Where there are no fields, the vector text and ruled lines are used to find labels, blanks, boxes and the relationships between them.
Works on the great majority of government PDFs, which are generated rather than scanned.
Optical recognition
For scans and photographs, the page is read visually to recover its text and the position of every writing area.
Reads over 200 languages and reports where the scan quality is poor enough to be worth a second look.
A language model, for what is left
Only the boxes still unresolved go to a model, to be named and, where you ask for it, answered.
Sending less means the model sees a short, specific question rather than a whole page, which is both cheaper and more accurate.
A model asked to read an entire form will produce something plausible for every box on it. A model asked about the four boxes nothing else could resolve will tell you when it does not know.
Why the order matters

Every box explained where it sits
Not a glossary. The explanation is about the box your cursor is in, on the form in front of you, taking into account what the rest of the page has already asked.
What the office is actually asking
Which of your addresses, which date format, whether a middle name belongs there, what the small print under the box changes.
Required, optional, or conditional
Boxes that only apply if you answered something else a particular way are marked as such rather than left looking mandatory.
Official-use sections
The parts meant for the office to complete are identified and left alone, rather than helpfully filled in with your details.
Reuse
Type it once, not once per form
Details you confirm are stored by meaning, not by the words a particular form happened to use for them. Codice fiscale, tax number and NIF are the same fact wearing three labels.

A form asking about a spouse, a child or an employer draws on that person’s details, not yours. Address roles work the same way: home, previous, employer and correspondence stay distinct.

A passport, ID card or residence certificate you have added becomes a source suggestions can be drawn from and traced back to.
Checking
Where suggestions come from, and when they are refused
A suggestion you cannot check is a guess with better manners. Every one shows its source, and the ones that cannot be justified are raised as questions instead.
Traceable
Each filled value says where it came from: a detail you confirmed, or a specific document you uploaded.
Asked, not assumed
Where two of your saved details could both fit a box, you are asked which. It is not resolved quietly by picking the more recent one.
Checked against the page
The finished document is rendered and read back, so what you review is the page as it will print rather than a preview of what should have happened.

Every answer is editable. Nothing is submitted anywhere by us: you download the PDF and file it yourself.
