How to review an official form before you submit it
A practical review routine for names, dates, identifiers, conditional sections and supporting evidence.

Begin with the details that identify the person or organisation: full legal name, date of birth, tax or registration number, and document number. A spelling difference that looks harmless can stop an authority matching the form to its records.
Compare each value with its source document. Do not “correct” formatting unless the form asks for a specific format. A date shown as day/month/year should stay in that order.
Follow the form’s branching logic
Many official forms hide their real complexity in conditions. A Yes answer may activate a spouse, income or address section; a No answer may make an entire block irrelevant. Review the triggering answer and every section it controls together.
- Confirm every required Yes/No question.
- Check that skipped sections are genuinely not applicable.
- Look for continuation pages or attachment requirements.
- Never invent a value just to make a warning disappear.
Separate confirmed values from suggestions
A useful autofill system should distinguish an exact match from a probable one. Postal code and ZIP code can be synonyms, but a registered-office postcode and a home postcode are not interchangeable. Confirm context as well as wording.
If HelperDoc marks a value for review, use the source shown beside it. Accept it only after the person, address type and date all match the printed question.
Review the final PDF, not only the field list
The field list checks meaning; the final page checks placement. Open every page at readable zoom and look for clipped text, incorrect checkbox marks, handwriting that is too widely spaced, and values printed over instructions. Download only after both views agree.
Keep a copy of what you submitted and note the date and channel used. HelperDoc helps prepare the document; the receiving authority remains the source of truth for eligibility and deadlines.
